marius, do you use ai to (help you) write these articles?

i was really glad to have discovered your substack, the content felt fresh, honest and raw, and you quickly became one of my favourite writers. but after a thought crept in that your articles might be ai-generated, my original appreciation and enjoyment were gone

one might say: there's no self, no author, everything is just happening anyway, so why would it matter where the words originate from. it's the ideas that count, not their vehicle. besides, who cares about some reader's 'enjoyment'

still, i'd really like to know whether the ideas and wordings on your substack come through a human body called marius or the llm

Hey solarkey. I love the honesty behind this question. Thank you. I write about my experience and use AI to touch it up. The process is more or less writing down thoughts and experience about something, feeding it to AI, reading the suggestions it provides for better flow and correcting what doesn't feel aligned with what feels true.

Interesting comment by Solarkey. It never occurred to me that these articles may be AI generated in any way. It’s interesting to know they may sometimes be AI polished but what isn’t these days? I find a preference for the unrefined also. Something new to wonder about, or not. Regardless, l very much appreciate your authenticity and vulnerability in sharing your unfolding, unraveling, whatever this is. You often say what I don’t feel like saying publicly anymore. I’m glad someone is sharing this, in this way. Thank you.

Thank you, Celene.

Yes, I find it interesting too, and it’s made me reflect more deeply on why I feel the need to polish my writing.

For me, the primary motivation for writing is simply to express and empty out what’s moving through. That part is already fulfilled before I share anything publicly.

Publishing it is secondary. It’s about offering the expression in case someone resonates with it or finds value in it. And in that, I’ve held the belief that using AI, much like how professional writers use editors, might enhance the reading experience.

I don't know if this will change anything, maybe it will, maybe it won't.

It brings up a lot of joy to know that you, and others, feel this is valuble enough to support. It is deeply appreciated. Much love.

thank you for responding and disclosing your writing process

personally, i'd much rather read an 'imperfect' human-written article with a bumpy flow than something polished by an ai, but i acknowledge others might prefer a different aesthetic
